GROUND CHANGE FOR ENGLAND v USA ST. REGIS INTERNATIONAL CUP AT COWDRAY PARK 19th MAY

The St. Regis International Cup will be played at Cowdray Park’s Ambersham Complex on the newly re-surfaced Ambersham 1 ground which has been the subject of a major upgrade over the winter months.

Cowdray Park Polo Club, in consultation with The Hurlingham Polo Association, has elected for the switch from the Cowdray Lawns grounds due to the adverse weather conditions.

Polo Manager Chris Bethell comments: “It is a great privilege to be welcoming the American team for their first outdoor international match on British soil for 15 years. I feel certain that they will be impressed by our wonderful location within the South Downs National Park and the excellent new surface which promises to play exceptionally well.”

With a long and illustrious history, Cowdray Park is recognised as the Home of British Polo. Viscount Cowdray's 16,000 acre estate is situated in the South Downs National Park of West Sussex and the game of polo has been played on the estate for 100 years, with the first competitive tournaments being recorded in 1910. Today approximately 450 matches are played each season, with the highlight being the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open Championships and we welcome spectators throughout the season.
